چکیده

We study spectral Galerkin approximations of an Allen–Cahn equation over the two-dimensional torus perturbed by weak space-time white noise of strength √ ε. We introduce a Wick renormalisation of the equation in order to have a system that is welldefined as the regularisation is removed. We show sharp upper and lower bounds on the transition times from a neighbourhood of the stable configuration −1 to the stable configuration 1 in the asymptotic regime ε → 0. These estimates are uniform in the discretisation parameter N , suggesting an Eyring–Kramers formula for the limiting renormalised stochastic PDE. The effect of the “infinite renormalisation” is to modify the prefactor and to replace the ratio of determinants in the finite-dimensional Eyring– Kramers law by a renormalised Carleman–Fredholm determinant. 2010 Mathematical Subject Classification. 60H15, 35K57 (primary), 81S20, 82C28 (secondary).

The existence of global attractor for a Cahn-Hilliard/Allen-Cahn‎ ‎equation

In this paper, we consider a Cahn-Hillard/Allen-Cahn equation. By using the semigroup and the classical existence theorem of global attractors, we give the existence of the global attractor in H^k(0

Computing transition rates for the 1-D stochastic Ginzburg–Landau–Allen–Cahn equation for finite-amplitude noise with a rare event algorithm

In this article we compute and analyse the transition rates and duration of reactive trajectories of the stochastic 1-D Allen-Cahn equations for both the Freidlin-Wentzell regime (weak noise or temperature limit) and finite-amplitude white noise, as well as for small and large domain. We demonstrate that extremely rare reactive trajectories corresponding to direct transitions between two metast...

On the short time asymptotic of the stochastic Allen-Cahn equation

A description of the short time behavior of solutions of the Allen-Cahn equation with a smoothened additive noise is presented. The key result is that in the sharp interface limit solutions move according to motion by mean curvature with an additional stochastic forcing. This extends a similar result of Funaki [9] in spatial dimension n = 2 to arbitrary dimensions. Resumé On étudie le comportem...

Finite Element Methods for the Stochastic Allen-Cahn Equation with Gradient-type Multiplicative Noise

This paper studies finite element approximations of the stochastic Allen–Cahn equation with gradient-type multiplicative noise that is white in time and correlated in space. The sharp interface limit—as the diffuse interface thickness vanishes—of the stochastic Allen–Cahn equation is formally a stochastic mean curvature flow which is described by a stochastically perturbed geometric law of the ...

On the Backward Euler Approximation of the Stochastic Allen-Cahn Equation

We consider the stochastic Allen-Cahn equation perturbed by smooth additive Gaussian noise in a spatial domain with smooth boundary in dimension d ≤ 3, and study the semidiscretization in time of the equation by an implicit Euler method. We show that the method converges pathwise with a rate O(∆tγ) for any γ < 1 2 . We also prove that the scheme converges uniformly in the strong Lp-sense but wi...
